Our Story
Our first olive trees took root at Rangihoua Estate in 1997, and over the years those trees have continued to flourish. Today, Allpress Olive Groves is where world-class extra virgin olive oil meets unforgettable Waiheke Island experiences.
Although the groves have been part of the island’s landscape for decades, Allpress Olive Groves was officially founded in 2021 by Michael Allpress. After 33 years leading Allpress Espresso, Michael - a long time Waiheke local—began milling from his own trees in 2016, working alongside what was formerly Rangihoua Estate. When the chance came to purchase Rangihoua and another island grove, number29, in 2021, he seized the opportunity to bring a new vision to life.
Since then, we’ve been crafting more than just award-winning extra virgin olive oil. We’re creating a destination - a place to taste, explore, and connect. From our tasting room and mill tours to seasonal events and a curated collection of luxry holiday homes tucked among the groves, Allpress Olive Groves invites you to experience a different side of Waiheke.
Recently, we opened the doors to Bistro Allpress. Our menu celebrates simplicity and seasonality - changing regularly and crafted around local and New Zealand ingredients. Inspired by the rustic charm of European cantinas, each dish features just a few great ingredients, creating honest, nourishing food that lets our olive oil shine.
